Cillara in Flight

So I've been doing watercolors, and the other day the Awesome Fiance' and I were watching the new Avengers cartoon, and he was reading to my some of the older comics, and I did a teeny little sketch on an old bill, and figured , "hey, let's paint this!"

So Cillara is very superheroine here. I don't often draw her with her wings, but I am happy at how they turned out. Also, the costume is a little bit of several older outfits from many sketches past... the pants are totally from the Hermit tarot card, and the armor bits are Classic Cillara, and the long coat/vest is straight from the Harry Potter crossover drawings/story that I made to amuse myself (only minus the sleeves. It usually has sleeves.) I hadn't done a color version of that coat yet, so color me surprised to find the lining is purple!

Purple kinda became a theme here...

Anywho, enough ramblings on my Mary Sue of Doom. This was painted with watercolors on vellum bristol board (last sheet! I gotta switch to watercolor paper cause I can't afford to buy the boards right now. Farking $10 a sheet!) and lined with Microns. Bits of white where added with white fabric paint, but not as much as I thought I'd need to originally. I like it when shit works out like that.

Also... part of me keeps thinking "How does she fly with hair like that? It must weigh more than she does!" And the rest of me is all "I don't care, I love drawing her hair!"

It's been like that for me lately.
